The haddock wrap is to die for @Eldon, so is the steak. Cockburn's haggis ciabatta is a big fave. You really can't go wrong in there.
Been in Aberdeen on site all day, so just catching up now.
    Glad you enjoyed it...;)

Just been going through your earlier posts, Loch Naver, Crask Inn, (closed, not surprisingly) and you would have passed one of my previous sites about 3 miles North of Crask, Craig Riabhach Windfarm. Terrible place for the dreaded midge, by the million...!

    Look at this beauty.....

It smelt, looked and tasted delicious :yum
The wife is the cook and expert menu decipherer, so in her absence I had to take a stab in the dark.

    One word, Yummee!

Then using @JackWS wisdom, there simply was no other choice than cheesecake!

There was, but our objectives aligned :yum

Oh I do like a fruit cheesecake.
    Look at this chunk?

Thank you @learningtofly yes, it comes pretty hard when you idolise someone in your primary and junior years.

Edited, as I said far too much :pensive:
Anyway, tomorrow's another day :) and going south.

@Eldon, I am enjoying this thread immensely. I thank you for taking the time to share your adventures with us. I don't know how I missed your post that @learningtofly quoted, but it really struck a cord with me so thank you for sharing your philosophy. This in particular really hit home:

"Stop the clock ticking on existing and do what you dream of as time flies by, whether you like it or not!"

Thanks and enjoy the rest of your travels!:heart::heart:

Yes, 'chunk' is a great way to describe the cheesecake helpings at The Pier, @Eldon I always point people that way if they're heading that direction.
    What are the plans today?

The two guys in the garden at The Crask had these big nets on, like down to the navel long. I asked if they were doing something with bees dressed like that.
Apparently under the trees in the garden, the midges are horrendous, yet where we were talking, only 20 metres or so away, there were none.

Well I'm around 450 miles from home but I've no intention of doing it in one stint, been there done that.

I once came back from Harris to home via Skye and it wasn't any fun with 300 miles of rain. :confounded: 450 end to end.

I'm thinking 200 miles or thereabouts south, so I guess below Edinburgh.

Breakfast arriving soon, so food, map check and then a decision.

Here's an Invershin breakfast from the other day, very nice.

Quite right @Eldon break it up and enjoy the journey. Breakfast looks nice and gives you a good start. My maddest trip was taking the Thundercat home from Exeter on the 30th of March 2002. March on the South coast is vastly different to March on the A9 in the dark...
Left at 08.00, pulled into Ballinluiag Services at 20.00, where the waitress thought I was off my head making for Dingwall.
    By then, so did I.
    You have a safe journey...;)

So slightly out of sync, but went deer chasing with my new binoculars last night :)

It turned out I didn't need them

Look at that for one-upmanship, some people have statues and metal deer sculptures, this guy has the real thing.

    So many parallels.....

    I had a Thundercat

    20190806_134907.jpg

And I once rode, after work on a Friday night, to John O Groats campsite, 520 miles.
I got pulled for speeding in Edinburgh and the copper thought I was joking when he said "where are you going?"
    I said "John O Groats"
    He said "what tonight!"
I replied, "yes but not at this rate" and we both laughed.

Here's the beast, not the first wife, the GT 750 on its way to J o G.
The coppers pulling us didn't mention the dog :joy: probably didn't want any more paperwork.
