The views up here are good but I can't help feeling it's all a "bring a big bucket of cash and leave it here"!
I get they have to make money ( not even whilst the sun shines I may add) but it's all a bit too touristy for me.

    Notes for future;
    Good views and free toilets.
Make sure it doesn't take more than 45 minutes or you'll get charged.

Here's me on the way down and note the width of the ticketed verge on the second pic, outside the designated area.

Now here I must fess up to obviously having an inherent weakness, as back in town the show continued with some bikes parked up.

I quite like this, what do you think?

Yes , OK I get it's totally useless and impractical and no doubt won't go around corners but.....

So for a Triumph forum brownie point, street cred, and to demonstrate an obvious superior knowledge of all things, just answer the following.

Who is going to tell me the size, as printed on the sidewall, of this rear tyre?

So enough of these tractors, I need an ice cream and then make tracks.

Called for fuel and oh b0110x.

In my haste to move off the pump this morning after refueling, I noted the tank bag didn't go back on its buckles so easy. Anyway, once clipped in it travelled all day fine.
Now I've come to do my second tankful today, look what I find :mad:

    20250824_165359.jpg

    20250824_164400.jpg

The tank bag didn't initially sit right because the key flap must've been trapped UP by the bag. Squeezing the buckles shut maybe wasn't the best idea:relieved:
Flexing it the wrong way did it no favours at all :sob:

Anyone have a spare, or even a full cap, as no doubt that will be how it comes?
A 765, Tiger etc. all seem to share the same part.
Message me if you have one that you'll let go please?

A quick perusal, as its now approaching 17.00 (Sunday) and as yet I don't have a target for a camp spot.
OS maps on your phone is great, providing you have Internet as the download function (offline mode), is quite a small area.
Site selected, I'm there in 10 minutes and to be greeted by this sign. I've seen plenty of signs but this is a new one on me.
Now I can't decide if this is genuine concern, scaremongering or just a way of frightening people off by the landowner.
    What do you think?

    20250824_174215.jpg

Well I'm here to stay, so send 'em out to get me :imp:

A couple of km walk after something to eat, smoked mackerel, nachos and salsa :yum
And it's now time for bed as the light starts to fade quite rapidly.

    Monday.
Now last night there were a few flies about early on, but no midges as I'm on the east coast, right?

This picture disproves that theory, this morning and I kid you not, there are 5247 midges in this photo as I've counted them.

    20250825_083139.jpg

And Mondays journey begins ...... not fast enough
    Isn't the saying
" midges work makes the dream work" :joy:

I hear that this years Thunder in the Glens, is the last one. Not sure is it the actual last one, or the last one at Aviemore?

Brilliant road report of a great trip, by the way...

Yes funny enough @JackWS I overheard a conversation that was going along those lines. Then someone else said it was going to two yearly, biennial or biannual, can never remember which.

    20250825_132008.jpg

And exactly how much does it cost to put something other than sugar in your pop?

    20250825_110324.jpg

Here's some pics from between my #56 and #59

Great roads, a 765 in 4th gear is THE gear, ideal ratio for this engines torque. Down to 25 mph, no problem, a quick squirt up to plenty fast enough, next corner, repeat, repeat on off on off.

Very easy lazy riding, quite therapeutic actually
