Glad the weather seems to be ok for you, sounds like you're having a great time Nikki Did you take plenty of memory cards for your bike cam?
Tomorrow is a big and exciting day. I cross the Arctic Circle. I'm 80kms south at the moment. I'm travelling to the Lofoten Islands by ferry tomorrow afternoon. It's a 4 hour trip arriving at 8pm. Waspy still running like a dream. Who needs an expensive BMW when Waspy can achieve the same and provide the same amount of pleasure. I love my Waspy.
I brought my laptop with me so everything is backed up to the cloud daily. Having said that I bought 3 large memory cards before I left for just in case
Looks like you're just behind @Suffolkbumpkin there Nikki https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/arctic-circle-trip-made-it-there-today.20436/
Nikki, that breakfast with all that bacon, sausages, cooked meats, breads and lettuce, you didn't eat it all did you ?
I'm at my hotel 29 km from the Nordkapp tourist centre. Done 380 km today but took 5 hours because the roads are windy and you have to go around fjords and not through them. I'll visit the center tomorrow before heading south. Went through Norways longest under sea tunnel of nearly 7 km. Now if anyone is following in my footsteps and you come this far north, make sure to bring warm gear. It's bloody freezing up here with temperatures of around 8 degrees with a nasty chilly wind and I've had 5 hours of it. The scenery is still amazing but quite bleak. I'll update the blog with todays journey as soon as possible.
its our last day in Norway. We enter Sweden later this morning. Waspy is now looking very filthy. bad weather yesterday at the Nordkapp visitor center. The chain needs some lubing before getting going this morning.
If it's any consolation the weather here hasn't been great, well done for making it to Nordkapp, enjoy the rest of your trip
Congratulations for making it all the way to Nordkapp Nikki, i've been loving the pictures on your blog keep them coming I hope the weather is kind to you on your journey south
I arrived at what I thought was going to be the Swedish border only to discover it was the Finnish border. Weather has warmed up dramatically. No icey wind and 18 degrees. That'll do for me
I suppose one border's just like another eh ? On another topic, i've really enjoyed reading your blog, it's very well done and very interesting, you should do more. Perhaps across India ? or Siberia as you seem to have coped with the cold very well ? Perhaps eventually you could write a book ? Michael Palin's a right dickhead aint he ?
I'm now in Sundsvall, we've done a whisker under 6000kms so far and I'm 1800kms from home. Luckily there was an Indian Restaurant just round the corner from the hotel. Not so luckily they got my order wrong and I ended up with a Korma instead of a Karai. Couldn't be arsed to send it back. However it was actually nice. Next curry will be when I'm back in Malmo, in the meantime reindeers are advised to keep a low profile.
