Yes, I'm really looking forward to getting the new panels on.
The guy who's doing the work has done stuff for me before and he's very good.
I left my rear mudguard with him for colour matching so i'm expecting good results.
That's why I ended up fitting the tail tidy so I could keep the bike on the road, I knew it would be a while before I got them back.
There's a few more mods to come yet. :D

Went for a browse around Squaredeals, was only looking for a clutch lifter cover.
Ended up with that, plus Oberon footpegs, plus front and rear carbon fibre 'fenders'.....

I had to tinker with the tail tidy to get the rear mudguard under it. In the end it turned out quite well I think.
You can just see the new footpeg in the second pic.
I've never really got on with the chunky rubber pegs, they kept getting in the way when putting my feet down. These are much better.

And then I got a call from the painter, my panels were ready!!
    BUT....

The colour match is not quite right. Apparently it is the correct paint code but wrong colour primer which is making it more yellow than it should be.
So, off back to be re-done. A great shame as the finish on them is brilliant.
Oh well, we''ll get there eventually.

Got the (corrected) painted panels back today.
The bike is now just as I wanted it to look. The colour match with the original tank paint is spot on and the quality of finish is excellent.
I can highly recommend Image Motorcycle Refinishers in Liversedge.
Barry is a top bloke and went out of his way to make sure we got it right.
The bike now is just about how I want it and ready for a lot of summer miles. Only other thing I may consider would be a pair of Thruxton Tors.
Here's a few more pics 'cos I know you lot like to see them :)

Truly a stunning piece of machinery. The inmates will ogle over those pictures for ages. Nursey will be relieved tonight meds will be easier to administer.

There's a new kid on the block, Ronnie has a new garage companion:)
I was missing my old 748 so ended up buying a 999s.
I absolutely love both these bikes, they both 'do it' so differently but do it so well. Oh, and Ronnie's just been and passed MOT no problems, had him a year now. How time flies!

    Lovely Duke Paul.
I had a 999S, one of the later ones with the red frame and R engine. Absolutely loved that bike but the ex made me sell it to find a house move :sob:

    Thanks.
Yes, the later ones have a bit more power and a few cosmetic mods. As you know, it's the torque which does it with these. Mine is a 2003, one of the very early ones. 136 bhp is quite enough for me:D
