Greetings and salutations all ! New to the forum. Just traded my 2017 cranberry over silver T120 in on a new 2017 Speed Triple R in white/red at my Triumph dealer here in San Antonio, Texas. I loved the T120 and had it de-reflectored and added black bullet sized Rizoma LED turn signals so as to appear 1969 and it is an exquisite machine but a bit too cruiser-ish for me . Owned it for nearly 2 years and only put 3600 miles on it. Garage kept. The power plant is very nice but a bit dull, even with the loping 270 degree crank. Reliable as a hammer. I'm 67 and have been owning/riding motorcycles since I was 14. I've always ridden sporting kit and the Speed Triple is one of the finest I've ever ridden or owned. The T120 was my first Triumph. I have pared my garage down to just 3 machines (2010 VFR1200F, 2001 SV 650 and the new ST-R) and I am fortunate. The ST-R will be outstanding in our local Hill Country twisties and for the annual trip to the twisties in the Arkansas Ozarks. The forum (understandably), appears to have a majority of Brits as members which is cool. I spent 5 years in East Anglia near Woodbridge in Suffolk with an '81 CB900F in the early 1980's and loved the B roads, tracks and the IOM. The people were wonderful as well. My last name is Dunham, so you can do the math about my heritage. Hail Brittania !
Thanks for the welcome. I'm looking forward to swapping war stories with you all. I go way back to Honda Super 90 and two stroke days. I'm very pleased that the Speed Triple exceeds my expectations as a nicely balanced weapon for hooning about the local curvey roads. Brits should be proud of what John Bloor has accomplished.
Hi mate and welcome! The CBX looks stunning and so does the indicators on the T120. Enjoy the new RS !
