Hi all thanks for letting me in I have had Jap bikes for years up till last week when I bought my first Tiger 1050se on a 2010 plate . I am interested finding out what are the common issues that I keep hearing about ,like the gear change issues and how to get them fixed .will try and post pictures when I figure out how to .
    Thanks again .

    Hi Ray and welcome.
I've been the owner of a 2010 Tiger 1050se for the grand total of two weeks. Mrs Privateer and I have done about 200 miles on it so far. Findings so far.
    a) Plenty of power for two up riding
    b) Very comfortable pillion seat (brownie points)
    c) Much lighter and more manoeuvrable than full on tourers.
    d) The howl of the triple.
    e) It has a centre stand(se model), optional on standard model.
    f) Plenty of fun solo with the panniers off!
    g) Bit less weather protection than you'll be used to, although the screen and hand guards do a pretty good job.

No gear change problems on mine, although I have heard of them.

Obviously these are very early findings, but might help.:):)
