So, some forty five years after buying my first motorbike I now have my first Triumph, a 2016 Speed Triple R.

Having picked it up on Monday, I haven’t stopped riding this glorious machine....it’s really addictive. I absolutely love the motor, the handling, the sound, the comfort......I could go on and on. I’m now asking myself why it’s taken all these years to discover this fabulous bike.

As for the bike itself, she is three years old, covered less than 7000 miles and is in showroom condition. The GRmoto exhaust sounds beautiful and, in my opinion, gives a far cleaner look than the original. The tail-tidy and removal of the pillion footrest hangers has also added to a cleaner back end. It also came with some carbon bling bits, crash bungs and Evotech short levers.

She joins my Multistrada 950 in the garage.....for me, I now have the best of both worlds with two lovely motorbikes. I’m not sure the Triple will rack up the same kind of mileage that the Ducati has (38000 in two and a bit years) but I’ll give it a go!

Looking forward to my time on the forum and learning from you knowledgeable lot.

Welcome to a great forum, neilb, and to the wonderful world of Triumph! Congrats on the Speed Triple R. I have a Speedy, too, and love it. You think you like it now?! You'll like it even more the more you ride it. :)

Welcome to the family. What a lovely machine. How's that grin on your face when you take it out and listen to that triple ripple..
