Cheers, I've got the matt black paint on the exhaust all the way from the manifold. I bought some Autosol which I'll use on the chrome suspension parts, but checked in with Triumph first before getting into it on the exhaust and they said to not Autosol it as it'll take the paint off, and that the only way to get rid is to repaint it all...might be looking at some exhaust tape as it's pretty ugly!

Cheers, Dartplayer. Would you Autosol with matt black pipes?

Thanks Repooh, I got a flat which needed replacing on the rear, so I'm probably close to 4500 on that now, and then about 2500 on the front I'd say, so the Contis may be close...

Welcome Tom, I wouldn’t use Autosol. It’s quite abrasive and would probably remove the black coating o_O

Cheers, Freck. This is what I was concerned about and why I thought I'd check in with Triumph themselves. I've got a tube which I'll use on the chrome elements on the suspension.

That being said, I've got the stock chrome set in storage that I'm considering putting back on.

    Open to thoughts from everyone......

For polishing I use Belgom Alu which isn’t as abrasive as Autosol and leaves a thin wax protective coating. Great stuff :grinning:

Ah, sorry for my earlier suggestion of Autosol, I didn't realise they were coated pipes.

Not on the Matt black, I had thought that was the crud needing cleaning.
I would try wiping with wd40 on a rag to clean them up.

Had a go with some brake cleaner and the scourer side of a sponge/scourer combo, for minimal abrasive-ness; think it worked pretty well. There's some spots I can't get rid of but can only assume that's heat affecting flecks in the metal, but didn't want to scrub too hard.
