Well, I say new, but I've had it since October. She's a Silver 2005 ABS model with 45k on the clock. Lots of extras like the big screen, luggage rack, scottoiler & heated grips. Just fitted a new chain & a set of Pirelli Angel GT's

Sadly the previous owners haven't been the best, only the main rails of the pannier rack were actually fitted, so has bits missing & maintenance has very much been neglected so there's a list of niggles to work through. Main one is a recurring electrical issue.

Really enjoying the bike when she's working. I love big Sports-Tourers & the Sprint has always been right at the top of the list for bikes I'd want to own. Never had a silver bike, but does the looks justice. As side from the reliability issues, it's been everything I hoped for when I bought it.

Welcome to the forum! Throw out a detailed description of your electrical issue and you'll probably get some good advice from the other members.

    Hi and welcome,

As I understand it the rack was an optional extra so the main rails and panniers are how it came from the factory.

There are the single piece main rails, which are fitted, but also a centre bar & foot-peg-mounted stops as part of the kit. They don't carry any weight, just stop the panniers bouncing around & are missing from my bike. I'm guessing the owner who installed them put the main rails on, then either couldn't be bothered to fit the secondary elements or thought they were just extra parts he/she didn't need.

It's an obvious example of a slight ineptitude of one or more of the previous owners (which is borne out in quite a few places) & the bike isn't bulletproof enough to cope.

I will get her up to spec though. She's got decent mileage for the age & is in a fundamentally good condition. I'm hoping that once the issues are cleared up I'll have a good few years of fun.

Ah, I see. I've seen quite a few comments from people who don't bother with the centre bar without problem.
