    Hi All,

My name is marco from antwerp, have been the owner of a daytona 900 from 1993.
Have until a few months ago never considered something else, or driven a more modern bike.
But, after driving a meticulously maintained grey speed triple R of 2016, with arrow cans and quickshifter, i decided to buy it.
The difference in agility, weight distribution, power and ease of driving is incredible. I'm now considering selling the daytona 900, with some hesitation.
Funny enough, after buying it, winter has set in in belgium.

    cheers, marco.

    Welcome Marco.
Triumph has changed a bit in the past 30 years, enjoy the new bike. But DON'T EVER sell that Daytona. :)

Daag Marco. The solution has to be to sell the Volvo and keep everything else! :) Especially the Daytona. :grinning: It's in THE BEST colour and looks to be in great condition so it's very much an appreciating asset. Yeah ..... MAYBE the Volvo is, too, but it will NEVER be as handsome as that Daytona. Or as sleek. Or as fast.

Yeah ...... keep the Daytona .......................

    Tot zo.

    Hi Adie, haha!
All are in great condition, the 780 is similarly rare as the daytona i think (it's the bertone coupe), and also in the best colour. :grinning:
Maybe not much appreciation on this forum but anyway: see photo. ;)
This was last summer in Scotland.

Isn’t owning a bike and a Volvo an oxymoron?

I finally came around to taking a few photographs of the "new" bike.
I don't know how the previous owner got it to look like this after 6 years of use.

It helps enormously to keep average annual mileage in hundreds rather than thousands ......... STYDE.jpg

Seems such a shame to have something so nice and not use it, it's too much money for me to use as an ornament :(

I can assure you it's no ornament and it does get used. I currently have 5 road legal, usable bikes so, if each got 1,000 miles per annum use, then I'm doing what many "own for pleasure" riders would do.

My mileage is often governed by how much work I have to do on the house, garden, car etc., as well as the weather. And occasional paid employment.

I make no apologies to anyone for being a fair weather rider as I reckon I "served my time" when a bike was the ONLY form of transport I could afford and work was an 80 mile round trip from home ........ LONG before the easy availability and affordability of 'technical underclothes' or Damart; GoreTex, and even full face helmets, etc!!

Eeeeee, wenn ar whur a ladd ....................

I can totally relate! I have 4 bikes from a 40 year old classic to a daily use sports tourer and feel like I have a bike for every occasion or depending on my mood
