All I had to do was put new turn signals on my '97 T509 and I'd be out for a ride - but NOOOOO, we couldn't have that!
So here's the deal: This bike had been wrecked and didn't have any flashers when I bought it.
Installed the flashers and get nothing
Checked the fuse, checked the new LED relay, got 13 volts at the relay receptacle and 1.3 volts (variable) at the flashers.
Also these flashers are three wire and the system is two wire.
I hooked up the "ground" and "signal" wire and then I tied in the "running" wire, no difference.

Before I pull the tank to investigate further, is there something I'm missing?

A lot of the time an LED relay advertised for the job is CF13-JL02 but this is incorrect, the correct one is CF13-GL02. I use one of these without a problem. They can be got here
