I think I just qualified for membership to the forum Here's the scenario: I went to put the new Monza cap on Doris as you can see it comes in two parts, the cap and the adapter. The adapter has a fine thread at the top that the cap screws onto and a large thread that screws into the tank. The instructions say to put a thin coat of oil on the thread as you might have to take it apart to put spacers in so that it lines up properly on the tank. I did this. you the screw the two together before fitting, I did this too. I fitted it but it didn't line up so I then had to unfit it so that I could separate the cap from the adapter to put in the spacer, I did this, you then have too separate the adapter from the cap, easy enough as I had put a thin coat of oil on the thread! So I grab the cap in my left hand, the Thread of the adapter in my right and twist, Yup you've guessed it, that thread is like razor blades OUCH! like 7 large paper cuts, use a cloth you numpty!!
I wonder>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>perhaps..............................this will-----------------------------------remove//////////////SNAPPED BOLTS????????????
The sort of things I do Last oil change I did tried screwing the sump plug back in ...... Helps to actually use the sump plug. I had picked up a bolt that was thankfully too small. Took a couple of minutes for me to realise I had the wrong thing.
Ol crispey....you've screwed up yet again. Sorry to hear about your pain. The other week whilst decorating I un-done a wood screw that was tight in to say the least, being on a ladder I thought I'd pop it in my mouth to hold it whilst I came down...Bugger me those screws get hot.
I must of been sold short when I got my monza cap for my thruxton crispey...I didn't get any plasters in the packaging...That's not fair is it?
