Along with my Thruxton, I own a Vespa. I feel no shame in this. The Vespa is comfortable 2 up and carries sandwiches under the seat. It's often more fun than the Triumph and a speed wobble at 80mph can be induced for the thrill seekers. It's fast from a standing start and will keep up with traffic at road legal speeds just about everywhere. However, potholes are its nemesis!

It's a 300, so some ability to drag two fully clothed adults up a hill without stalling.

I love the smell of a 2 stroke, when ever I see or meet one, always take a good big inhale :) maybe thats what happened to my brain cells

You'll find a few in the Irish Sea, thrown overboard from the ferry while on their way to Douglas for the TT. Pills were removed from the little glove boxes first though....or so I've heard

Currently rebuilding a Vespa 125 from 1954, untouched for 40 years. Engine works again, just need to put everything back together.
Fun little bikes. Don't know if the newer version are also weightier on one side?

I've put some there already, I need to dig in the forum to find them..

    Edit, found
    https://www.thetriumphforum.com/thr...r-non-triumph-today.21073/page-29#post-458977

On the link upper I talked about 30 years untouched, but after talking to family, the thing stayed untouched 40 years..

It's now all in parts, engine running, everything cleaned up, but no respray planned. It will remind as original as possible.
The stock metal fuel tank is not usable anymore. Will keep only the apparent part and a plastic tank will be hidden inside.

I quite like the look of the 300 models, I'd have one if I had the space to keep it off the street and out of sight, they look great fun.
When we ( used to ) go over to Spain or France on our Bonnie, scooters seem to be by far the most popular form of powered two wheelers in use.

It is certainly a hit with my wife and daughter who are more than happy to pillion on the Vespa.
I live in the English Riviera but don’t let that fool you; there is a 365 day rain festival here which negates the benefits of scooter riding. Full wet weather gear is mandatory on the riviera!

I’ve owned three Vespas. My first was a 50cc two stroke modern Vespa, next was a GT200 four stroke then more recently a Rally 180 two stroke with manual gears. It was a lot of fun, but blimey it really vibrated. I’ll see if I can find some photos.
But yes scooters do count. ;)

Newer Vespas and for that matter all scooters here in the US are 4 stroke. 2 strokes were phased out due to pollution laws.
