Edit- Title changed to be a bit less ranty! I certainly won't be going through this again. Edit - Well, perhaps I will. Once FC Moto were aware of my issue, they have been very honourable. Full explanation in a later post. I wanted a Rukka mid layer down jacket. Nobody near me had one in stock so I went online. I was tempted to FC Moto because of the price. It turns out that Rukka sizes are quite generous so it was too big and I returned it for a smaller size. What an absolute pain in the backside to fill out customs forms etc. Spent hours trying to understand and make sure all paperwork was correct, I did what the returns form said, I did what the advice for shipping to Germany said and guess what, the customs in Germany have just refused it. I am trying to return an item that was less than the £135 tax point. Looks like I am going to face another bill from the delivery company. Lesson learned, it's just not worth it, be warned.
We ( one of my brothers and I) bought our current riding trousers and jackets from fc moto. They were very good to deal with. €50 per item cheaper than Get Geared and very prompt delivery. We ordered on a Sunday and all four items were delivered on the following Wednesday. All exactly as ordered. I would use them again.
I've bought from them before with no issues. I think returning to ANY EU seller is going to be cumbersome now, so maybe not an issue with FC Moto specifically?
Yep, had the jacket fitted then it wouldn't have been a problem. It is when things go wrong that you really test customer service though. I suspect it is a similar issue with other companies that have customs issues to resolve. If you are going to sell online across a border though, I think providing correct guidance on how to return wouldn't go amiss. I kind of feel like I am left high and dry trying to work out how to prepare the paperwork required by the local customs. In my case even the address was different on the return slip in the package compared with return slip linked to download online from the delivery note.
As others have said i've bought stuff from them while we were still in the eu without any problems though I never sent anything back but now we're not I personally wouldn't buy from them again
I used them once for some motorcycle jeans whilst we were in the EU. All was good except fit was not right, so returned but it took an age for the refund to come through. Now we're out of the EU I won't use anyone not in Britain because of the difficulty and expense of returns if something isn't right. Which is a shame because there are some good deals to be had in Europe.
Bought some shad pannier cases from shad in Spain which were very cheap then got slapped with customs tax so in all I only saved £10 but it was still the cheapest! I’m not sure where the exact threshold is regarding customs tax though
Sad enough, it's not FC-MOTO, it's Brexit. Everything between the UK and the continent is now back as it was before the EU existed. Forms, forms... and forms. I ordered several times at Sportsbikeshop, jacket too small or too big: after returning it I had another at my doorstep in less than 7 working days but since Brexit I don't do it anymore as I am afraid of this kind of issues.

I don't think it's like it was before the EU existed. It's just a combination of people not knowing what to do and some people just making it difficult on purpose.
I have had zero problems with ordering from the UK, Italy, Germany, or Spain. It is AMAZING to me how it’s no different from ordering something from, say, Los Angeles. That said I never order something that I might want to return. Cause it’s going to be a pain, obviously. Why did y’all leave the EU again? Doesn’t seem like a win.
my brother ordered a helmet fc shipped dhl to the usa/México border it got handed to the México post service at this point it becomes like a lottery ticket traveling on the back of an old donkey no trackingn andno one knows how long it will take after 2 months he presented a claim to FC he got reimbursed quickly the helmet arrived, and it did not fit him
And how many time had it been dropped in its box on the journey? There’s some things I’d never order on line and strongly that’s one of them.
ordered my helmet from fc moto, but not quite direct placed the order through their eBay listing as I thought it may be easier if it didn't fit and needed a different size. as it happened it fitted fine so no issues. would be interesting to know if I had to have returned it whether it would have been the same hassle you had. thinking I may have dodged a bullet
