Can’t get your head around it?

Simples! There is no one magic bullet additive. They all have pros and cons. The most slippery may not be the most pressure resistant and both may be susceptible to heat cycle breakdown etc.

So, your Activ8 may be great but you wouldn’t fill a sump with it and it may be a great lubricant but a lousy corrosion inhibitor of engines full of yellow metal like 60s bikes. It’s all about the right recipe for the particular application.

Looking at the Safety Data Sheet your Activ8 seems to be a mix of light mineral oil dosed with chlorinated paraffin - a well known additive in industrial use for 90+ yrs.
Setting aside their party trick with a torque wrench you might just reflect that they are a small family business and if they had truly discovered some Holy Grail of lubricants then Exxon, BP, etc., would have long since bought them out.

Thank you boys, for all your replies. They say 2 heads are better than one , but I've had a few more than that. Like many things in life, you have to find your own salvation. Will be in touch when I get some results.
