well was out earlier and stopped at my local Sainsbury's to pick up some bits and bobs as you do. There a young laddie ( about 3 or 4 ) waving like mad at the biker So spoke to his mum and let him sit on the bike. Took all of 2 minutes. Result one happy little chappy, grin like the Cheshire Cat over his face. One happy mum as her son was happy. She took a pic of him on the bike, I continue with the shopping. Again every ones happy , nice to see a kid smile
Always give the kids in cars a wave when they're looking, it either makes their day or gets you arrested.
In today`s weird & wonderful world...It`s probably the latter....not to be confused with latte, as that`s a drink my friend.
years ago when I was a passenger train driver I was going round the Sutton Wimbledon line. I stopped at Morden south & opened the doors...A lady got off with a small boy who was clearly upset, as she passed I said " oh dear, what`s so sad" she went on to tell me that she had gone to a Thomas the tank engine thing going on in the local park. she said it was a total carve up & that her son was so upset. I said that if he liked they could get on board & I,d let him see out from the front of the train & sound the whistle....2 minutes later, one happy mum & one very happy small child. Couldnt do it now though, too many cameras, & nosey parkers to deal with.
Sadly that's the case with the world we live in. I'm sure that really made that laddie's day as well. We live in a society where's we warn our kids and grand children of stranger danger, which must stop acts of kindness every day because of a very small minority of people that would actually harm children. It's a sick society we live in where so few can have such a major effect.
You're okay if you chat with mummy or daddy there and check with them before you offer anything. Lots of kids love bikes, but can be scared of the noise.
Far too many folks these days think you're some kind of a weirdo if you show any interest at all in their kids. Welcome to the forum by the way.
Marshalled at Silverstone MotoGP this year, got a few hand outs from the teams, had 2 of Rossi promo pictures, so waited till a young Rossi fan was walking by our post, called him over, and handed 1 to him. biggest smile of the weekend from that little lad.
