When I dropped my Tiger Sport 40mm, I started with the front dropped 25mm.
Then adjusted to suit after riding it.

Not the same but I lowered the wifes Street Triple 675R with 25mm kit on the rear, felt horrid when I "test rode;)" it with front still standard. Dropped the front by 10mm and felt much better. On the Street3R the forks neck down either side of the clamping area so can't do more than 10mm anyway, also top adjusters are very close to bars as standard so had to fit 20mm bar risers to give some space for them. Using bar risers ment I had to reroute the brake hose to avoid any strain on full lock. Also needed a shorter side stand to get back some lean angle when parked. On the Street3 the R in standard trim runs higher than the lower spec stocker, as a consequence the stock bike has a shorter sidestand, so I got one of those from a breaker and just about does the job, so might be worth checking out if the Speed3 is a similar situation.....
So quite a bit to check out before you get stuck in. (the devil is in the detail )

IIRC, I do have a lowered stand for a Speed Triple that will fit the RS.
I used it on my 2017 Speed but didn't bother lowering the RS when I got it.

Hi l fitted one of these kits to Mrs fzrs Speed rs. Droped the front by 13mm. Handling wise you'd never know it was lowered. Side stand I removed about a mm from the foot of the stand and the same from the stop, it stands slightly more upright than mine but is absolutely fine.

Yes 40mm does seem a bit extreme. I don't know how it would affect the handling but take it very easy till you know exactly how it goes. The front you would just have to say take 10mm at a time till you feel it right by testing how it feels out there on the road.
    Regards
    Joe.

Hi mate ... did the same with mine ... you'll definitely need a different side stand otherwise your Speedy will stand near vertical ... I got an adjustable one from Soupy's
