I reckon the heat shield is just for the cat as they get very hot.
The lowboy full system on mine doesn't need a heat shield at all.

I had the Arrow Low Boy fitted to my previous 2013 Speed Triple R. As it is the full system, there are no tabs to attach the heat shield. My current 2015 94R has the SC Projects GP M2 end can fitted which works very nicely with the heat shield.
I have attached a photo of each bike for comparison
    Hope this helps

I have just listed my 94R in the Bikes for Sale Forum. There is a video clip in the ad if you want to hear how the SC Projects Exhaust sounds, although the clip was taken on my i phone, so sounds deeper and louder in reality.

Did the full arrow system effect the throttle response?,just seen a bloke on YouTube saying it made his 16 a little snatchy??,sounded awesome though :)

No idea, mine came fitted with it.
It's not snatchy on Rain or Road modes.
It can seem snatchy in the other modes because of the faster throttle response especially when combined with cackhandedness, but it stays smooth if you use the throttle properly ;)

I didn't notice the throttle being snatchy with the arrow system, I found the power delivery to be very smooth.
