Hi All, The gear peg on my Speed Triple had worked loose and was driving me mad and as they are quite expensive I thought I would have a go at sorting it. This is what I did. I haven't posted before so hope images work. The above bits are the same as found on a BMW R1100S gear peg. They use the same rubber as a Triumph but have 2 nylon inserts shells that allow the peg to rotate. Part nos 23418524155 you need 2 of these and 23417680761 is the rubber you can use your old one or buy Triumph. A mate of mine has a lathe so turned down a copy of the original peg but made the middle 9.80mm so it would spin and put a M8 thread down the middle. The original peg has a 10.00mm stub at the end which is punched flat to hold the peg so the thread can't be 10.00mm or it won't spin. You'll need a small insert to go in the gear lever to cater for this then bolt it up with a M8 x 30mm long domed allen bolt. If anyone is interested I can ask him if he would be interested in making the bits.
Awesome, greetings from another Swansea speed triple owner. See you at Llandovery cafe, after this craziness is over
