"Justified" is one of Mr. Sandi's and my favorite TV series. In fact, when asked about his favorite, Mr. Sandi says that it's #1 for him. We definitely found ourselves binge watching this one back when we watched it. I loved all the interesting and quirky characters, especially Boyd Crowder and Dewey Crowe. And then there's Raylan. (Timothy Olyphant) Sigh... Good series recommendation, Adie!
Mr. Sandi and I are watching some really classy movies these days! But they are mindless and fun...and funny. Notice a theme those sequel titles? Zombieland and Zombieland 2 (as I mentioned in a previous post) Deadpool and Deadpool 2 Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 We stumbled upon a cable channel called SY FI and are finding all sorts of goodies there. Mr. Sandi recorded about a dozen episodes of The Twilight Zone so we're watching those, too. I'm not usually a sci-fi fan but I seem to really be enjoying these movies and shows. Maybe it's because they seem even weirder than real life these days and that's saying something.
We don't have that channel but I personally have done some work for a couple of series on it, one was a lot of props and furniture for a series about superman set in the time before the films... can't remember the name though. Currently starting work on another one too.
"The Dig" - excellent film based on a true story. Shows the selfish condescending nature of the British upper classes at the time and beyond.
Denzel Washington. The little things. I'm a big fan of Denzel. But I have to say this one is slow and the ending, without spoilers, left me thinking huh?
We’re planning to watch Episode -#2 this evening over avocado toast with smoked salmon and some kind of alcoholic beverage. Yep, we’re definitely livng the wild and crazy life during Covid times.
Thanks for the tip. I need some more films..... the weather has been so poor here we are getting through a few films. Wolf of Wall Street last night. I’d not seen it before and enjoyed DiCaprio in it. Crazy times ..! Then, that was.... !
The Light Between Oceans. Well cast and acted. Thoroughly depressing story of four lives ruined just after the First World War.
We're watching The Crown. Thoroughly enjoying it and learning lots....if it's accurate. Have any of you who live in the UK seen the series. I'm curious about how historically accurate it is and how well it depicts the people it portrays.
Hi sandi! Well (according to the british press) the royal family aren't happy with the program as the public think that all of it is true and the family is actually like the series. I think that the big stories are probably true, but the things that unfold/were told has a bit of "artistic licence" added to them to spice it up! Personally, me and mrs d2t enjoy it!
20th Anniversary 4K restoration of the Fellowship of the Ring is playing at the theater near me, so that's where I'm off to. I refuse to miss the opportunity to see that in the theater again
A mate and I were eagerly awaiting that release for a year back in the day. We were like a couple of excited kids when we finally got to see it on the big screen. Enjoy!
It's a dramatisation designed to please the viewing public. As a general guide it's ok but take the characterisations with a pinch of salt.
Last film watched was Ready Player One, because it leaves NetFlix this week and I never got around to seeing it. Better than I expected, though pretty standard fare. Impressive visuals, as you'd expect, but the real appeal is the vast number of pop culture references.
