Ask dilli to fabricate you one. He can bring Duck over with his angle grinder, just in case.

    One more off-topic in reply . . . o_O

I've tried Hendrick and didn't care for it. Botanist was ok, but haven't tried the others. These days I'm only allowed one (or two :p) on the week between meds so I can afford to be picky. Flinching at the cost is a habit from my previous life I have trouble breaking.

As for bourbon, it's Bulleit. That stuff is good. I got started on that after watching Stallone's "Bullet to the Head". Not a bad movie, BTW.

Thanks, Dartplayer! I'm always up for recommendations. :) This is a gin I've not heard of before.

I opened some box wine the other day. It said on the box it would last six weeks -it was gone in three hours the liars.

Yes, and I apologize for my part in the derailment, ChasChas. :relieved: Sometimes I really get going when the topic is gin!

I *really* wouldn't worry about it
I've never been a fan of those non gin drinking forums where to stray off topic or follow a tangent is frowned upon

    On topic update!
I ordered a new part from Fowlers (sixty bloody quid!) but it's backorder so I've been quoted ten to fourteen day delivery. Took the money straight away, I *think* technically your card cannot be charged for an item not on the shelf. No matter, that's a row for if there's a problem.
Meantime I've found a welder with the right kit that can hopefully stick it together on Wed this week.

The last time I had to find an ali welder was in Tipperary in about '87 when my GSX1100 slid on gravel and punched a hole in the generator cover when it hit the ground. Repair then was ten Irish punts. Let's see what inflation brings ;)

Job done. Im not bothering to clean up any more than i have as its a stopgap till the new one arrives.
Best of all was i didn't get charged a bean as it was considered repayment for a previous favour done. The bank of Karma is great when it works

Hi ChasChas, apologies for not getting to this sooner, but I've been in Cornwall for a week with all the wonderful connection difficulties you can imagine. Can I ask what year bike you have? I have a full set of footrests from an '07 Speedy which are in good shape, happy to donate them to a good cause if they'll fit yours. I'm on the Surrey/Hampshire border and happy to take a spin in the Kent direction. The measurement between fittings looks like 70mm.

PS Wrecking Coast honey sloe gin is apparently very pleasant...

    Thanks Captain *salutes*
I'll be fitting a new assembly tomorrow, it turned up today and I already had my welded repair set to go, the new part turned up earlier than predicted.

Many thanks for the offer, I'll actually measure the pitch on the rest in a min for anybody elses reference, my bike is an '02 but it'd be useful for the collective hive Triumph mind to know if there *is* interchangability

    68mm centres for an 02.

Who is responsible for entering that to 'the record',
