    Have a great trip @Wessa - I’m keen to do the Wild Atlantic Way, but very much doubt it’ll be this year

    We’re going to Ireland on the bikes four weeks on Friday. 12 of us going this year. We’re staying fairly North as we only have four days. Looking forward to it. Staying in Carrickfergus, Dungloe, Leanane and Belfast for the last night.
    Hope you have a great trip and stay dry .

    Ok guys and gals day one. Ride up from Cheshire to Stranraer, had a slight shower through the lakes (could not have predicted that lol), but the rest of the ride was in glorious sunshine.

    Had a couple of pints before food.

    Then back to our digs. Picture from the front of our digs.

    @Wessa:
    A good meal must be accompanied by a few drinks beforehand. -
    You look like you want to solve a fundamental question. "Where should I start? Onion rings, chips or maybe the burger?" :p

    @Markus that is my mate Paul, and you are correct he didn’t know where to start. :). My meal was the crispy chicken, which was very nice.

    I have shared a load of pics on the other place that shall not be mentioned. Sorry but it would take me hours to mess about resizing everything to put on here :(
    Maybe @Havit could have a word with the owner about doing something about the tiny (by todays standards) size limit on pics here. It's doing this forum harm IMO. it was a great trip by the way!

    Well, dang, @andyc1! @Havit, is this something that's possible for this forum? I am signed up for "the other" forum but can barely keep up with one (this one!) much less two. Glad you had a fantastic trip. I'm sure that @Vulpes is quite disappointed he wasn't with you guys.

    Massively dissapointed, @Sandi T . The whole thing was initially my idea - it was to be a solo trip, but then @Wessa asked if he could join, and @andyc1 followed. Next was Mark, whom I met on our Scottish tour in 2019. So when my "incident" made it impossible for me to go, to say I was dissapointed is a huge understatement... :( We had videocalls beforehand, Andy put together all the daily routes (brilliant!), all ferries were booked... :mad: At least I still have all the routes.

    Now hoping I’ll be fit enough in 3 weeks time to take the bikes to Northern Italy and tour the Dolomites for a fortnight with the mrs. like we did last year...

    Wow, I'm sure you're even more disappointed (if that's even possible) by missing the trip since it was initially your idea. But you do still have all the routes, thank goodness and can plan another venture. I've found that I often appreciate something even more when I've missed out on it previously. I've mentioned a "challenge" on our Utah trip earlier this month which meant missing the second half of the trip. I'll get that thread posted here soon to relay our adventures--and our MISadventures!

    I really hope you heal fast and are able to ride with Mrs V (please tell her hello from me) into Italy and the Dolomites. Fingers crossed! :kissing_heart:

    Ok home now and have had time to go through the photo's and to think about my trip. In summary I left Cheshire with my mate Paul and rode up to Scotland to get the ferry across to Larne, Northern Ireland. When we got off the ferry we met @andyc1 and rode up the east coast over the northern coast past the Giants Causeway, Port Rush around Derry and into the Republic at Letterkenny.

    Day 3. So if the first days riding was good, then day 3 was as good again. We the hotel at Letterkenny and rode north into the Glenveagh National Park and then made our way across to the west coast Atlantic Way, heading south. We continued through Donegal county past Donegal town and on down the Atlantic Way to Sligo. Our next overnight stop.
