Picked the new Speedy up on 30th of March....unfortunately it's back at the dealers now with 277miles on and showing a major oil 'weep' from the LH side rear and front head gasket area....gutted!....the dealers said that they've never seen the 1050 motor leak here......bad head gasket perhaps?...any ideas?
Welcome Icarus. I had a similar experience with 50 miles on mine on the evening it was delivered. Leak from dipstick and also from the rear of engine. It was actually the cam cover gasket leaking which is an easy fix. So hopefully not the head gasket itself for you ! Its demoralising when it happens and spioils the experience, but you soon get over it when hammering the miles on the RS Great bikes these but with more than their fair share of teething troubles ... I think longer term they have been OK. Enjoy !
