The Flying Millyard at last years Bournemouth DGR. Hand built and with two cylinders from a Wasp rotary aero engine making 5 litres. It is kick started by jumping onto a detachable lever!
Saw this odd one today at the Prescott Bike Festival. Apparently it holds the record for the fastest motorcycle with one wheel at 94mph. Better him than me.
I came across this while waiting for the ferry back from the Classic IOM TT last year. The guy who owns it had put some serious money in to this bike. It is basically a tuned RG500 engine that has been grafted in to an Aprilia RS250 frame and some really nice parts, Ohlins forks, Brembo radial calipers with Brembo master cyclinder, magnesium wheels with carbon rims - the list goes on. Anyway, it blew my mind when I clapped eyes on it although I'm not keen on the MotoGP paintwork. Regardless, it's pretty impressive.
Dropped into Jacks Hill on Sunday, there was a few interesting bikes about. Tidy Ducati How about a 4 cylinder 2 stroke BSA
Lovely little Ducati ... echoes of my misspent youth! But ..... ... if that BSA frame (or what's left of it - was it really a Bantam one upon a time?) contains what I think it contains, then wowee! What an interesting piece of engineering! To me it looks like two Ariel Arrow engines nailed together to make a square four. Not only that, but they have been converted to disc valve induction. Or are my eyes deceiving me?? Again!
