Our daughter has always been good at drawing animals, especially horses. Her style is usually similar to the animations that have inspired her (Disney, Anime etc). But she went to a Stubbs exhibition recently, and came back inspired to do something more realistic. This is the result. It is her horse, Serin, and dog, Tam. I think it is really good, though I think Tam is slightly out of place because it is in her animation style - should be just the horse in my opinion. She uses an electronic drawing pad and pen, but it is still all hand-drawn and painted
I agree with you about 'Tam' but that doesn't detract at all from her drawing skills which are exceptional. I'm sure she has a future in art should she want it, especially when supported from her rightly proud Dad. Oldfart
Thanks guys, I'll pass on your comments. She doesn't yet do much professionally, but last year and this, she was commissioned to do the Christmas cards for Blackwells bookshop in Oxford. The theme of the six designs is Oxford landmarks, each with her logo of a fox. This is one of last year's.
Biker Jock. I agree truly Fantastic. Very Talented young Lady. Wish I was as good. I am still on the matchstick men. Thanks for sharing those. Regards Joe.
Perhaps next year this forum could commission her for a Christmas card with the profits going to charity? Oldfart
Oldfart. I am well up for that. Maybe even get painted pictures of the bikes we have worth the money. Regards Joe.
Thanks again for the great comments. I'll ask and see what she says. I'm not sure if she'll want to tackle bikes, but I'll ask. Cheers.
That's quite a talent! I've never been able to master drawing on a digital device, so I know how much skill she has. Can definitely see the Stubbs inspiration.
