Your dead right Dave. The bike was taking over my life. I can now look at it in a new light. It's funny , when somthing goes wrong like this somtimes your better going away from it then taking a look on a new day .....I feel in a better mood for dealing with it if you get what I mean .

I was getting a bit anxious about the lounge floor in the new place being a bit 'soft'. Decided to leave it for a couple of days, but today got really stuck into it.

Ran the circuler saw across the floor boards and lifted them, to find a joist next to the rear wall completely rotten as a pear. Whipped out the old, installed a new oak joist and have started to replace dodgy boards - just need a bit more wood and the jobs a good'un ;);););)

You bet they are Steve, along with back, shoulders, neck etc etc etc. But we are getting there.

Not aiming for professional quality finish you understand, just didn't want the settee legs puncturing the floorboards ;);):rolleyes:

Oak for the joist, but I got hold of (fnar fnar) lovely bit of Chataigne (Chestnut) for the boards.

Well, sort of I think. I did as suggested ,took out the plugs put her in gear and turned the engine over in gear backwards . I then took a massive gamble and put the plugs back in and started her as taking the sump off ment taking the Engine out of the frame. Anyway she started .I put her in gear and gingerly rode her along the drive and out on the road. All seemed good . No rattles clangs or nasty suprises. So i took her for a longer ride to the motorway and she seemed find except for a coolent leak that i think i have traced to a gasket behind the head. Im in the uk for a week now so as soon as im back i will get stuck into her again and hope to have her done for the meet. I think my luck is holding in regard to the shaft but not in the other small things that keep happening. I would have liked to have had her finished and given her a few runs before Buxted. But its going to be very tight with time for that luxury me thinks. Let's hope all will be good for August. Thanks everyone for your input and support during this episode . ;)
