Hey Dilli.! Just read about this when I got up this morning [I think we are about 8 hours time difference here]. Well, that really STINKS.! A lot of that going on on my side of the planet too. Hope it does not come to that. I was one of those guys that had to re-invent myself every few years. Never had a job longer than 6 years in my whole working life. Life is full of choices. Don't let it bum you out. Best to you and the family. ...J.D.

I went through some nervous times at the beginning of the last downturn. I was already scheduled to retire at the end of 2008. Then the recession hit and I was wondering if I should stay working. I decided to go ahead and retire. It really worked out for the best. It bought me a few more years of longevity. I probably would not be alive today if I had not quit working back then. Just an issue of slowing down so I could live longer. ...J.D.

@dilligaf time you took control of the direction of your life and don’t wait for people to depend on. One of the lads I sometimes work with works at a premium body shop in Leeds, His side line is second hand strimmers, chainsaws blowers and all power tools like that. It’s a sideline for him but he makes over £10,000 per year in raw cash, I’ve seen the money, seen the stock and every time he sees me he wants to show me what he’s just bought. He just buys proper shit and cleans them!!

Now that’s easy peasy even a strange sounding foreigner like you with bad English can do that!!

    Well it’s happened
I got a phone call from my manager last week asking me to attend a meeting today with HR
Told him that I can’t drive because of my shoulders but I would take a call from them if they wanted
As I suspected I now find myself on a 21day consultation period
Basically I’ve been made redundant but they have to do it by the book so to speak

Wishing you well, Dilli. The process is tough, even if you are prepared, so keep your chin up and remember you are talented.:p
Bastard timing with your shoulder issues, so hope that reduces the need to go in.
Looking forward to seeing you with work you don’t hate:kissing_heart:
