    Awesome fair play , what you doing the handle out of TD , as im sure I have some different types of African hardwoods here amongst the stock pile , got some don't know what it is but its rock hard and a very dark reddish purple if any good

    Thanks chiari1 i do have a box of various wood myself but its dwindling down to a lot of bits that are too small so may take you up on that if i cant find something big enough:)
    Sound like you may have some Purple heart or Ironwood...my box also has some unidentifiable woods most of it was given to me years ago by a friend Theo Faberge who was the last survivor of the line and still made the eggs sadly passed away a few years back.

    To be honest TD they are none of them , I have the names written on them but cant be bothered to go and look until tomorrow :confused: If you need any just PM me the approx sizes needed and your address and we will go from there , done a fair bit of wood turning for years but just cant seem to find the time at the moment

    A few of the previous ones i have made...not forged I'm afraid just cut and shaped from hard stainless but they do hold an edge but most end up in a display case i just like making them.

    Does your love of knives extend to swords as well Tricky?

    I wanted to buy 2 broadswords from a mate when he was selling off his collection. Unfortunately a dealer got there before me & made him an offer for the entire collection.
    My mate (being a man who likes an easy life) said the only way I could have the 2 I wanted was to buy the lot at the price the dealer was offering.
    The dealer was taking the pi$$ with his offer (as they often do! :rolleyes:)
    So I told my mate to call him & say he'd accept the offer but it wouldn't include the broadswords.
    But he wouldn't do it.
    So I have several old swords collecting dust in my man-cave.

    I don't want a fortune for them & I can post photos if you or anyone else might be interested?.

    I've had an idea Tricky...
    Take the top one in this photo out into your back garden.
    Wave it around in a frenzied manner. Whilst screaming (in your best psychotic voice)..."I'm really not sure how much more of that Drum n Bass shite I can take! I don't want to go back to Broadmoor for another 20yrs. But I can definitely hear the voices in my head telling me to kill again!"...
