Having had lockdown lifted I have been putting plenty of miles on my new Tiger (see my previous thread) in fact, I’ve put more miles on her than I did on the Speedy the whole time I had it! I’ve used any and every excuse under the sun to get out....today I did a 140 mile round trip (funny, it’s only 35 miles away) to the Sportsbike shop in Boston just to buy a new pair of ear plugs! It was an “interesting” ride for those of you who know the Fens of East Anglia - buffeted one way by cross winds and the other by the slipstream of passing trucks! (A couple of minor cheek clenching moments were reported!).... Anyway, the bike has now been put up for a while as I am being admitted to Addenbrookes hospital on Friday 23rd for surgery on an aortic aneurysm.....been waiting for a while, but I will say my bum is twitching at the thought of it! So...a two week stay in hospital post surgery, then three to six months until I can get back on the bike/drive again....... BUT........they will rebuild me and I will return!
Ken P Here's wishing you a very speedy recovery. Thinking about that tiger sitting there waiting for you may help. Talk again soon mate. Joe.
"BUT........they will rebuild me and I will return!!" What you meant to say was "... and I will return - fitter, stronger and better than ever!!" Good luck with the surgery and best wishes for the recovery and recuperation!
As @Adie P said, Ken, you "will return--fitter, stronger and better than ever!!" Sending positive thoughts across the pond for a smooth and successful operation and a quick and complete recovery. Your bike will be patiently awaiting your return.
@Ken P, just checking in to see how your surgery went. From your first post in this thread it sounds like you may be getting out of the hospital at the end of this week. I hope all went smoothly and according to plan. Please post us when you feel up to it. Take good care.
