Yes I had a lot of trouble there a few years ago. But I feel that Triumph are asking a lot of their dealers these days. Demanding things more space to show of the bikes and service and accessories in a separate space and to top it of the dealer picks up the price for any renovations so I would imagine that most dealers just can't afford to keep their franchise and we will probably see a lot more going around the country.

Not sure if that was a different company to H-M40? The car side used to be in the village of Hughendon Valley, a mile or so from my gaff, before they moved to the old Vauxhall site on the A40 in Wycombe and became Sytner. M40 does not have any BMW signage or sales material that I've ever seen.

Odd that as I bought Hugh from M40 just last year, and he was serviced there only two weeks ago, nobody mentioned it. And I've not yet had any communication about it from Triumph. I'm not too surprised either - they are (were!) tiny compared to other local-ish dealers and they just don't get much passing traffic. Heck, even their caff closed in March so you can't even get a cuppa on a Saturday morning if you're passing or a bacon sarnie while your 500 mile service is being done. Shame as I'll have to head for Hemel or Woburn now I guess.

Hello everyone. I am the owner of Hughenden M40 and would just like to clarify the situation for all who are interested? Triumph has in their infinite wisdom decided they want a dealer North West of Oxford ( Cumnor Town centre). I was asked to go on that journey but after a lot of deliberation I decided that to sell and move to that location was not a viable proposition for myself , staff and family. I personally think that it would not be in the best location for a bike shop either. This shop was appointed a Triumph dealer when Hinkley production was only 6 months old and it was hard to come to terms that I would not hold the Triumph Franchise any longer. We have always stocked a vast and different range of used bikes and will have around 80 quality bikes on site. I am now hoping to be able to serve not only our Triumph customers but also bikers of other brands and become a " great bike shop" rather than just a manufacturers dealer with all the controls and constraints that it brings.
I can assure you that the team here has not changed , the work shop has all the tools and diagnostics it has always had and parts etc are available as they were before.
Any questions then please call into the shop and ask, you are more than welcome!
    Thank you,
Robert and all the team at Hughenden M40.

    Robert.
That was really big of you to come on and explain things to every on. And I tend to agree with you as I for one don't have to struggle through oxford jus to get to a bike shop I have seen the queue's to many time and I don't care how much I love my bikes I would not be going there. And I know I had my differences with the shop before your time. But that's in the past and I and a friend stopped there a few weeks ago and one of your staff members was there waiting for a bike to come from another member of staff. He made us a cuppa and had a chat with us. I left there thinking what a decent chap he was and how friendly. I do think Triumph have got this all wrong on this occasion as I think you are fantastically located. If you don't have time you can motorway it If you are out for the day the country roads and scenery are second to none for meandering via the country with a stop at Infinity and the café next door. But good luck for your future. I did think you had BMW aswel.
    Regards
    Joe.

Rob sorry to hear about Triumph's decision over your franchise, is this the reason for no Triumph presence at the Brackley Motorcycle Festival in August?
Do you think you'll take on another manufacturer? All the best for the future.

Hello Ian. There was no reason for us to be at Brackley with the Triumph lorry to support the brand as I knew that the franchise was ending. It costs a lot of money to get the support truck and staff. I loved being at Brackley and have supported them from the 2nd year of the festival after Pure Triumph let them down on year one. I can now go and see everything that goes on for the first time next year as I will not be working!

That is an interesting one. We have not had any bikes coming back with your problem but the chain should last more than that especially as you have looked after it. Triumphs warranty does not cover "wear and tear items" so they could use that to get out of a claim. Read your warranty book to see what is and is not covered as most people don't! I do not know how old the bike is but if it is within warranty a letter to Triumph customer service will probably get you the desired outcome. Be polite and explain why you are unhappy with the product and the service you have received and they may assist you. Has your dealer actually put a warranty claim in and it has been rejected or just fobbed you off?
Has the dealer checked the number of links?
We can help if you get stuck and are not too far away but I am unable to carry out warranty work now. If you do not get any success then we would happily fit a chain and sprocket set if you need it. just e mail the shop for a quote to [email protected]
    Good luck!
