Thought I would say Hi. I have never thought to join a bike forum before, but came across this earlier today. I have a 790, pre-ordered at the launch in late 2000. The bike turned up to Fowlers, Bristol, in Feb 2001 and they delivered it to my home a week or so later. It was registered for the 1st March as I took a bike related reg. number - Y2BON. (year 2000 bonnie!) I still have it of course, and it has under 10k miles on the clock. But due to stuff and a heart problem, it has not been used for a couple of years. I had my heart op a couple of weeks ago so getting excited to get on with stuff once fully recovered. We have a motorhome, which is great, but better if you have another form of transport. So I have just ordered a transverse trailer from CMF. The plan is to get the bike on the road and take it with us next year.
Nigel Whitehead Welcome to the family. Sorry to hear about your woe's. And yes do hope you are on the mend again. Yes take it slow and it will be great again with the bike. In the meantime do keep us all informed as to how you are progressing and get yourself ready to ride. Joe.
Welcome Nigel. Sorry to hear about the hart surgery, but good you are recovering Cool reg number Sounds like a great idea to have a trailer for the Bonnie when traveling with the motorhome Hope you will enjoy the forum
Welcome Nigel! My heart also let me down in 2014... And likewise I motivated myself with buying bikes! It is the BEST therapy! Believe me, I am officially dispatched to advise our government in health-care-issues! Most important, I told them, always wear a mask when robbing a bank... They seemed to have misunderstood and from there it all went downhill... NURSE, where‘s my enemy... uuhh enema???
YES, pics Nigel! Triumph rules! Oh, and in case, you should wonder: I am the designated German without humor on this forum and therefore on sufferance...
Winglad That's good enough to improve your humour rating. Alought I have see that mode just yet. Joe.
Bloor's Triumphs stay together much better than the Meriden offerings, probably can dispatch the 'accessories for keeping things gathered'. (How did I do for a yank?)
Welcome to the forum, nigel! We're glad to have you aboard. Glad, also, that you kept that Bonnie through thick and thin and that you're excited to get on with riding it again and taking it along on those motorhome adventures. Please share a photo or two of your bike with us, if you would be so kind. Hope you recover fully and smoothly from your heart op!!
