Hello all, firstly, a question to the mods on here. Whilst I do aspire to owning either a Thruxton or Scrambler (from the modern era) or a Tiger Cub Trials (from the classic era), I am currently a Ducati owner (Monster carbie & 998s) and have a '05 Sprint ST 1050, I am currently looking to sell the Sprint ST. Will I be shot down in flames for registering, lurking, joining in with some discussions along the way, but also trying to sell the Sprint ST? I'd rather be open and honest with you, so please feel free to message me if I am breaking either rules of the forum or spirit of the forum. like I say, will be selling now, but also will be looking in the not too distant future for a Trumpet and advice to go with that, just got my hands full with my Ducatis and a Saab I am restoring right now. Pete
Hi and welcome to the forum. Don't worry about joining and not owning a Triumph - There are rumoured to be some on here who ride (shudder) B*Ws!
Cheers Steve, It seems there is a mutual dislike for R & K (especially the GeeEssers) on most forums :-D drooled over the Thruxton R when it was launched recently, but no way could I justify having another bike right now and the price was way too high for me. the Scrambler is nicer looking than the Ducati version, but seems to hold their price way more than the Ducati Scrambler, too (great for owners/sellers, not so for prospective buyers). Pete
Pete - you could always advertise the Sprint for sale on this Forum under the "bikes for sale" section.
@steve lovatt I was going to advertise on here in the for sale section, but thought best to flag it with the mods first. @dilligaf I did hold back on the photo of the red bike, though ;-) Pete
Hi and welcome. For coming in and asking, intro yourself and photo's - I have no problem with you using the site to sell the ST. Your right tho', people who join and first post is a sell, not good, and unlikely to be trusted. And you have a SAAB, so that's cool. Which one? Was looking at one of the last Vert's, always fancied one, might still happen.
Thanks @MrOrange , will tread respectfully. the Saab is a '91 900 T16S 3 door. I bought from ebay on a bit of a whim, and found it to be a lemon (the old "if it's too good to be true, it probably is" statement springs to mind). Currently got it in with a bodywork restorer who have got it stripped to sheel and and grinding out rusty stuff and welding in fresh steel. it will owe me a lot of money once complete, but if I own it for a few years I will get that back in driving/owning pleasure, and hopefully it will climb in value. I did have a Saab 93 TTiD convertible on a '09 plate. was very nice looking, quick, but had that pig of an engine from Vauxhall in it that was so unreliable (DPF & EGR constant issues despite my commute being 30 mile each way with decent motorway blasts). Pete
Just traded in my old Saab 93 convertible (2007 Vector 2.0t). Good car, lots of goodies on it, drove well and very comfortable but had massive problems with battery running down. Two new batteries later and even an independent Saab garage couldn't find the problem!
thanks for the welcome. @Dozers Dad I see you do QC on Bushmills - you do an excellent job as I have yet to have a bad one! ;-) I will be up at the distillery this weekend doing the obligatory tour and snifter at the end while I visit my lad over at QUB. Pete
Welcome Pete. Go-faster Red's okay mate, after stealth black. Btw, if you wanna put some faces and bikes to user names, some of the inmates and staff are allowed out once a year, even the little feller with the B*W. This year we're going to Wales in July. Check it out. https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/grand-meet-up-2018-wales.12452/
