I ride all year apart from when there is salt on the road and it's icy. In the summer I do about 200 - 250 miles fairly often when I go out; in winter I do much shorter rides in general, unless it's an unseasonably warm day. This year I've done just over 13000 miles so far; I get out quite a lot. I am very lucky to live in Herefordshire - we're surrounded by lovely roads to ride and only about 15 minutes from the lovely less potholed roads of Wales!! @Helmut Visor and I went to Jerez to see the final WSBK round this year, taking a scenic route there and back through Spain and Portugal which was brilliant.
Jerez from the UK?? How long was that journey? Would love to add that to my bucket list...with a day or two of track days at Jerez Beautiful pictures! Wonderful to have such lovely roads close to you...makes me miss my days in California. Falling in love with these bikes each day...can't wait to add one to my stable. You've inspired me to get on the road for this coming weekend despite the frigid weather.
We rode for four days once we had reached Spain to get to Jerez, stayed for three nights and then four days back. We took a very meandering, twisty, scenic route of: Hereford - Portsmouth sailing to Bilbao. Bilabo - Sahagun. Saharan - Ciudad de Rodrigo. Ciudad de Rodrigo - Navatrasierra. Navatrasierra - Jerez. Then the same in reverse. About 2300 miles in total. We're really, really lucky with our roads, spoilt for choice - I take very few photos when I ride as I like to just enjoy the scenery, so the most spectacular bits never make it into a photograph!! I hope you enjoy your weekend of riding....I am sadly working nightshifts Friday and Saturday .
Wait, the Mister rides a Ducati?? Truly European household Thank you for chronicling your journey! Would love to replicate it! How far are you guys from Griff at AP? He's been so helpful educating me with my ape
Griff is a good friend of @Helmut Visor's - he is a truly lovely bloke and knows a lot!! We're about 80 miles away. The mister has two Aprilias, one Ducati and one Triumph. I have one Triumph and a 2004 Honda Fireblade.
What a household!!! Good Lord... Perhaps I could just rent one of the Mister's when I come to the UK We'd love to clone Griff here in the US... definitely a wealth of wisdom! Any track days on that Fireblade?
No track days yet at all; hopefully this year but on the Street Triple. I had the Blade custom painted this year . Perhaps I could just rent one of the Mister's when I come to the UK - good luck with that . Are you planning a trip over?
Thankfully.. rumors has it that Griff is coming to the continental USA sometime in the near future... If I can't fix my issues with my ape I may load her up and take a trip for her remedy with Griff
Mines a 68 plate which means it's a late 2018. This pic is near Rannoch station a lovely spot but can be bleak and barren on the wrong day. The following morning the wind driven rain created a stream through my tent
These are amazing regions to ride. I’m really getting the thirst to travel and ride on the side of the road. Are the winter months rideable?
Current UK temperatures are chilly but not too bad. Heated grips and suitable clothing makes things bearable.
