just fitted r+g heated grips to a 2017 street twin ,wired it so it only works through ignition, via a relay .its fused through the live feed to the relay ie terminal 30 on relay to battery live,is this correct or do I need a fuse between terminal 87 and the live to the grips,
terminal 86 connected to yellow wire to rear light
    terminal 85 to earth
    any advice welcome

Dont know about yellow wire, but if it’s 12 volt when rear light is on, you’ll be fine. see attached file.

cheers im not the sharpest tool in the box when it comes to electrics, just checking that ive got the fuse in the right place,ie ive got it fused where the live feed to the relay comes from the battery.

So long as the fuse is inline with the Main power draw , in this case the heated grip's it doesn't matter which side of the relay it's physically located ! Putting it inline with the switching power source won't protect the bikes electrical system.
