Harley Davidson held a test ride day at the Bridge House Cafe Wray Saturday 15th July, so I popped along for a look, although not a Harley man I do like some of the custom machines, unbeknown to me was the Morecambe Scooter Festival also attended, again I am definitely not a scooter person, I do appreciate the engineering that some have with their customised specials, how times change, Harleys and Scooters in the same venue, who would have believed it way back in the sixties. Personally I love anything with an engine and it was good to see people just enjoying themselves, what did strike me was those riding scooters were much younger than those on motorbikes, I didn't see anyone of a more mature age like myself scooter mounted and wondered why that was the case. Ride safe all from an ageing Rocker from a golden era of the sixties.
It sounds like you and I have similar values/ tastes. i appreciate the engineering and devotion put into some of these specials but in some cases, have absolutely no desire or intention of ever asking for a ride or taking them up even if I was offered it. I work with a guy in his 60's who actively rides Scooters still and he does lots of miles. He has a few bikes but for me his best one is his orange one, powered by a, and I kid you not, a KTM 300 2 stroke motor. On the dyno it sounds absolutely wicked
