Hi, Everyone. I've been riding a 2014 Bonneville for the past five years. I bought and started riding it in the New York City area, but most of the miles have been earned after moving to Austin about 3.5 years ago. Before the Bonnie, I was a dirt rider in my early teens. I love my Bonnie but decided it was time for an upgrade. I just brought home a new 2019 Speed Twin and couldn't be happier. (Wow - a tach! A fuel gauge! A gear indicator! ABS brakes! Six gears! Stock exhaust that doesn't make the bike sound like a sewing machine!) Customizing my Bonnie all this time has been fun, but there's really nothing of significance I would add to the Twin Speedy other than, say, a single pannier for day-to-day use and maybe a more comfortable seat for long rides in Austin Hill Country. I'm thinking about a Corbin seat but am concerned about the thickness - I'm already on the balls of my feet when I come to a stop on the ST so adding any height to the seat would be a problem. It's too bad there are no Corbin dealers so I could try it out before I order it - it's a pricey bit of kit. As for the pannier, I'm first trying to figure out if my black Bonneville rack from PMRacks.com will fit the Speed Twin. So far, I've only found a stock Triumph rack for the ST which is crazy expensive and only comes in chrome. I'm considering a pannier from Iron & Resin that (supposedly) doesn't require a rack if properly tied on. Ditto for the dry bags from Vuz. (Though a dry bag is overkill for my needs and I don't need two of them.) If you have a Speed Twin, I'd love to know what you've added or changed. Share pictures, please. Cheers!
GadetBoy Welcome to the family. Cracking brace of steeds there. How's the grin factor now. Those pictures will pacify the inmates tonight. Nursey will love the rest after she dishes out the meds. Regards & Ride Safe Joe.
