Excellent stuff Mick, looking forward to meeting you. Not sure at this stage which bike I'll be coming on, but it'll be a Triumph !!!!!! The KTM should be gone by then, so I'm going through the Tiger versus Bonny decision - AGAIN !! Dropped a bollock last time, won't do it again.
I love my Explorer. Quite different from a Bonny though. I do like the new Speed Twin but wanted a bike more touring oriented.
I should have bought the Tiger 800 XRX that I test rode, but I was seduced by a relatively cheap 2nd hand KTM Adventure - fully loaded - and pissed off by the lack of competence of the local Triumph/Ducati/Suzuki/CanAm/Victory/Royal Enfield dealer. But we learn as we go through life so it'll definitely be Triumph this next time.
Bloody hell Dave - bored with the KTM already? Won't be able to call you " the well known former Bonneville owner" anymore!
Hi Steve, no it's not that, it's just a matter of fund raising as we're buying another house. The purchase should be funded by a pension I'm cashing in, but I need a 'plan B' so the KTM will go, the house as will be bought as another Triumph. There is nothing wrong with the bike, it's brilliant, but there's more - for me - to biking than just the bike itself. I'm British and Triumph is British and that's important. Like the fact that I like Jaguar cars - must be a closet Patriot I suppose ?????
Crispey, I agree with the general sentiment but I don't have the size of pockets you have - I wish I did !!!!!
Triumph in the Garage, My Jag and the Missus' Land Rover on the drive. Just can't bring myself to buying german, cars or bikes. !!!! Thank god KTM is Austrian.
'Twas nothing, Dave! My wife can change a subject without pausing for breath, so my brain can do all sorts of strange things!! I usually have no control over such actions. What with a possible wiring fault to my brain - too much sitting down on it I've been told - and those damned voices, I'm lucky to make any sense at all!!
But you probably have longer arms!! My 2 aren't the latest by a long way and both together don't cost as much as one new one, and if I hadn't been so fussy probably even less, I SuppoSe I was lucky on that part. Mind you I was still wearing flares In The '80's
My t'other arf has just bought a KTM. I am unsure if this spells the end of our relationship. I will be taking him to collect it on Sat. I will keep you updated.............. pah.
