    Hi All

i just purchased a second hand Speed Twin 1200
i need a Passenger Grab Rail but triumph do not seem to manufacture one.
do you think a Thruxton 1200 one will fit.
Does it have the same frame / sub-frame ?
    Any information would be good.

    thanks Ady

Hi Ady, congrats on the new bike , I am sure you'll love it, I got one back in May and they are lovely bikes to ride. I could be wrong but don't think the Thruxton has a grab rail either, hope you manage to find something suitable though, cheers, EDIT - Sorry think I maybe got the wrong end of the stick, I just seen a grab rail kit for a Thruxton on ebay and guess maybe that's what your referring to? not entirely sure if it would fit the Speed Twin but I would think there is a very good possibility?

Hi, I emailed the guys on ebay selling the Thruxton Grab Rail asking if it would fit the Speed Twin and here is their reply, (which I thought was excellent and helpful). It might be worth your while taking up the offer??
I have dealt with them before, they are very good and reasonably priced.

    Hi

I am sorry we do not know if this will fit a Speed Twin as we do not have any bikes here to be able to check. If you would like to purchase it and try to see if it fits we do accept returns so you would be welcome to return it if it is not suitable.

    Kind Regards

    Jane

Hi, was wondering if you have had any success in obtaining a grab rail for your Speed Twin? Been thinking it might be something I would like to fit as well?

My Ventura Grab Rail finally turned up after 4 weeks.
It took a bit of fettling to make it fit properly to.
The missus says it really good though so happy in the end.

TEC BIKE seem to have changed their website since the other day and it was listed along with the Thruxton models. I was going to phone them to find out how the rack could fit both models or if there were two versions. Neither appear to be shown now.
Just gone back through my history and the title definitely included the Speed Twin. Page no longer exists.

It's arriving tomorrow. Apparently the indicators have to be repositioned so will read the instructions when it arrives and see what's involved.

Rack arrived today. Had it delivered to my work. Have to say I am not overly impressed with the welds, they are ok but not brilliant. A few scuffs on the paintwork but the main concern is the slight distortion on the brackets and how this may effect the hole alignments. Wont be attempting to fit it until the weekend so we'll see how it goes. At the price it is it is still a good buy but some fettling may be required.

I had to do a bit of fettling to make my grab rail fit correctly.
Make sure the threads in the shock mounting are clean , i made sure the bolts fitted first.
I had to drop the mudguard to do this so it is a bit fiddley.
