It's all digital mate. But the questions are just not clear - even in the practice tests they sometimes gave the wrong outcome.. but hey ho, government institution, so objections are out of the question...
Sorry to hear this Wim. I’m sure she’ll do it next time. A colleague of mine a few years back was doing his written test and I had a look and would’ve failed it. It was so difficult to figure out from the tiny pictures what was happening.
The UK test is equally daft. One question my son saw was “what should you do if your car has a fire in a tunnel”. The only correct answer was to keep driving until you get out of the tunnel. No mention of how bad the fire, how long the tunnel (left to drive), traffic (what if stationary in a jam), or proximity to the nearest refuge and alarm points, etc. Imagine the car engulfed in flames, passengers screaming and petrol (alight) squirting in your face - you gotta keep driving… That’s the rules. Edit: I do understand why you need to get out but the answer options should have said ‘try’.
Doggone it, Vulpes, I'm really bummed to read what happened with Mrs. Vulpes and the written test. It sounds like whoever wrote the test is not very well trained to do write tests. I'm sure she must feel frustrated and disappointed. We know from what you've shared that she has worked hard at studying to pass. I am very glad to read that there are other options and that Mrs. Vulpes remains determined to try again and to pass. Double good on her--it demonstrates her determination in the face of challenge. Please tell her that now I'm now even more impressed--she's sticking with it even though the going is a bit rockier than anticipated.
Sorry to hear Mrs Vulpes ran into trouble on the test. Great that she'll give it another go and chalk it up to crazy test writing. You'll have to keep taking her bike out now and then in the meantime (HH asked how much you slipped the test proctor for the fail so you could keep exercising her bike...no worries, I soundly kicked him on Mrs Vulpes' behalf). Seriously glad she's still willing to move forward and fun days are ahead.
Well, I'm happy to report mrs Vulpes aced the written test today. She found an opening in the schedule (if she hadn't the wait would have been until September!) so booked the test immediately. A 130 kilometre round trip but hey ho, she can move forward now!
Vehicle control next - figures of 8, tight turns, slow and quick slaloms, emergency- and precision stops and such. She already makes the tight turns better than me...
Yep, after the next hurdle it's the road test - after passing that she'll probably lock the Stripple...
And she'll have fun fun fun And her hubby can't ride the Stripple anymore (Fun fun fun and hubby can't ride the Stripple anymore) Well the girls all love her 'Cause she's gonna ride like an ace now (You'll ride like an ace now you'll ride like an ace) She'll make the TT look like a Roman chariot race now (You look like an ace now you look like an ace) Vulpes'll try to catch her But she leads him on a wild goose chase now (You ride like an ace now you ride like an ace) And she'll have fun fun fun And her hubby can't ride the Stripple anymore (Fun fun fun and hubby can't ride the Stripple anymore)
I've been out of town since this past Thursday and am just now catching up on forum news. And this news is terrific, @Vulpes! Please pass along my hearty congratulations to Mrs. Vulpes. So exciting and awesome!
What's the word on Mrs. Vulpes' progress on her moto testing and licensure, @Vulpes?? I've been a bit out of touch on the forum and have been wondering how she's doing.
Well, the vehicle control test was postponed due to red tape - that's now going to be next monday. Lessons are going well, and last Sunday we were a bit naughty and rode to a nearby industrial estate for some practice on her own bike. She initially had to get used to the throttle response on the striple, but adapted really quickly. So in effect we had our first ride-out together! It was good to have the intercom - excellent for giving instructions.
