Finally found time to get the suspension lift sorted. I've lifted the rear suspension by 20mm by adding spacers and longer bolts. Finished designs on the front, and @andyc1 drew them up for me. :kissing_heart::heart_eyes:

Took the drawings into the Lazer profiler mate of mine, should be ready for Friday:D

Suspension lift made !! Only taken six months .
AndyC1 did a great job of drawing up, so cheers for that bud. Got the plates eventually cut by another pal, and didn't even charge me (took 2 weeks tho:D), and an ex-pupil came round and welded them up for me. I can weld, but not to the same standard as him, so £20 well spent on his coded welding skills. Went full 2" lift, can cut them down if need be. That's easier than trying add more on. Was going to powder coat, but painted them as cutting down would be easier. If they are good, I'll take them off and get them done when I upgrade the front shocks to a pair of Bilsteins I have my eye on.

Looking good job , Not worth changing springs and painting while the leg is out ? o_O

That's likely to be my next upgrade. Normal spring rate is quite high on on the cooper, so probably stick with std.
See how the lift goes, then uprated shocks should help with traction on the bumpy stuff.

Love all this stuff mate, improvising to overcome the limits of a road going vehicle to make it better to race is challenging & frustrating but rewarding when you get it right, good luck with the racing MrO

That's her raised 2"a the front and 1" at the rear.
Hell of a struggle getting the extended front strut in. Bottom arm wouldn't drop enough, so ended up compressing the strut to get it in,spring compressor and trolley jack to squeeze it in.
Quick spin, everything seemed good. Could definitely feel the front raised up. Off to get it tracked this week.

3rd grass Autotest of the season. The suspension lift was a great success. Only managed to bottom it out twice, but that was really hammering it over some big lumps and ruts.

Didn't do particularly well today, was 4th in class and 12th overall  It was a very hilly track, and was really struggling for traction on damp grass, just couldn't get the power down. Not sure why, but maybe just lack of expierence compared to others that had been to the site many times.

    But -

I'm now sat 3rd overall at 1/2 way point in the season:party::party::party::party::party::party:

Well done MrO, keep it up, the guy leading it is clearly cheating to keep getting max points!

    Thanks.

I'll be happy to get top 5 in my first full season competing, and that's only doing one Tar test. If it comes down to the wire, I might do the one of the 2 tar tests just for the points :p

The guy leading has won it for about the last ten years. He turns up for every event and wins his class (same as mine). Most compete in class 1 (up top 1400cc), but were in class 2 (1600cc+). That's why there are two guys getting 10 points on the same round.

And yes, this did come into it when I got a 1600 mini to run;)

So @MrOrange over jumps will it sharply and aggresively top out the suspension?
    Might be worth checking.

Looks well by the way and I personally think it improves the aesthetics :p

Yes I did. They moved them after the walkabout, so I got a rerun. Unfortunately it started to rain, so my second run was 4 seconds slower .

Spring rate is unaltered, so not overly sprung. Just they are mounted 2" lower from the body.
That course was rough, see about 30s into the clip, top of the hill right turn, but it managed it quite ably.
