Like most others I won't be rushing back to the pub. My local pub is not re-opening, so I'm not sure what I will do when things do settle down. Likely just a drink at the house..
Sigh...these days there's not much at all that surprises me, Wessa. Just waiting on that locust plague at this point.
Ah, thanks for the clarification, @Smilinjack. I shouldn't have jumped to such a strident response without having enough information. How far apart are Leicester and Nottingham? Living in the American West where cities and towns are relatively far apart, it's hard for me to imagine chartering a bus just to drink in a pub. Though I'm a bit weary of drinking only in our backyard or living room, I'd probably still opt for that over taking a bus to go drink in a pub. Plus it doesn't seem that drinking and COVID mitigation are very compatible behaviors.
I won’t be going anywhere near. The rules they are putting in place mean it is going to be a real pain. I will carry on drinking in my own house rather Far less distance to stumble to bed and I never get lost
Lucky sod! I’m starting to resemble Cousin It now. I’ve not tried getting an appointment at the barbers yet (I’m guessing I’ll need to book) but Mrs Freck got one at her hairdressers for in 3 weeks time, and she was apparently on the priority list having already had an appointment booked before lockdown.
First haircut since when, pete? Hope you enjoy it. I think that a haircut is one of those many things we've simply taken for granted prior to being in the midst of a pandemic. I realized the other day that between my bicycle crash and then COVID, I haven't had a haircut--or a judicious "highlighting" --since last December. I hope my hairdresser still even remembers who I am! On a positive note, I am saving money.
I have mine booked for the 15th July. Can’t wait Although I have had at it during this lockdown, so don’t know if they can fix my attempt
We have a small village local that is the hub of the community, ie it’s where all the beer drinkers live in the evenings. We are really lucky to have a great group of friends that we have missed and a good landlord that needs our support. So we are going in early and coming away after a couple......But we always say that
Well after much work and expense we opened our pub on Saturday and it was fine Many of our lovely locals back plus a few townies who really appreciated our efforts. Basically the sort of like minded people our place thrives on Doubt I’ll be rushing to a Wetherspoons on our night off though. Remember the longer folk stay away from good pubs who are trying their best the more chance they’ll never reopen
