Just a little note from my side of the channel: I am following this thread closely, even if you do not hear from me too much these days. Concerning my personal situation: as a few of you know from the GMU, I am grounded from my job due to health issues. It is very hard to predict how this whole affair develops. If I am still off next year, I would love to participate at least in the Mosel part of the trip. Should I be back on the job, it will be totally open if I get some days off during this time since only families with kids are usually being let off the job during main season (us being a tourist airline ). But my next medical is on the 7th of September. Then I know a little more! Cheers, Daniel
As I'm probably not going to be at the gmu I'm hoping I'll get on this, be nice to visit the Mosel valley again. Sorry mate it was not you, it's just that yours was the last post with the list and I wanted to cross me off it, that's all.
But my next medical is on the 7th of September. Then I know a little more! Cheers, Daniel Good luck Daniel hope all goes well
So then, is anyone prepared to commit to a Hull - Rotterdam crossing in either late May or early June 2018. The cheapest is a five day return which would be ok for doing the Eiffel region. Or I can do a longer spell and take in the Harz mountains. It needs to be a telephone booking with P&O as you can only book one bike at a time on their website and that would also mean one cabin per person at £98 each way. Obviously sharing is only £49 per person each way. Any takers ?
Thanks for all the good wishes! It is not really the appropriate thread for 'health stuff', but since I came up with it here, I'd like to tell you how my cardio-exam went: the values are the same as last time (Feb 2017). That is good news. The bad ones being the fact that I still do not reach the required values of the LBA. So what does this mean for the trip? Next cardio is in February 2018. Even if the values should exceed the required level, I doubt that the slow bureaucratic procedures will allow me to fly in May. So I would say it looks good concerning a little meet up at the Mosel! Let us keep planning! Some great roads are waiting for you. (Not to mention beer and wine ) Cheers, Daniel
