Cochem is a great place to stay - on the Eifel side of the Mosel, historic, full of bars and restaurants and has a bridge over the river (always useful). It's a well known "Motorradtreff" or biker meeting point so plenty other bikes there especially at weekends.
Try the Hunsruck - the hills between the Mosel and the Rhein - they're higher than the Eifel and have less traffic.

If your wanting somewhere to stay then Am Tunnel motor hotel in Altenahr. Proper biker hotel, beer n food, bikes locked at night, Dutch biker owners so speak perfect English. They have all the routes to the Eifel region and happy to download them into your sat nav...........so good been 11 times with my tour groups :)

Cochem is a place to visit not stay as you want to ride the roads around it not stay in it :) and you get to ride through/on/around Nurburgring
