I remember back in the day (mid 1980’s) a Bradford curry with 3 chapatis cost the princely sum of 3 quid. Hot bottom next day guaranteed. :poop:

Back in the day for me (1976) Nikki, a Bradford curry with 3 chapatis was under £1.00. Beer was 20p a pint! :D

Yes that’s right Steve. You had to judge it just right to leave enough chapati left to finish the curry off.

Argh but did you ever eat any of those ‘keema sandwich’s’ from the S& R take away on Lillycroft Rd, they were lip licking magic, keema pasted over a chappati folded once, folded twice then wrapping greaseproof paper, 30p!!
We played the video machines and always ate those there!

FFS .... are those prices for real???:scream:

Had a large haddock, chips and mushy peas at the Angel pub in the middle of Beverley today, on a day out with friends from Leeds. Price? £7.95 (plus a mug of tea - cos I was driving). A big fat bastid mixed grill was, from memory, £13.95. 8oz rump steak was under a tenner. AND .... treacle sponge and custard was on the menu at £3.25 if memory serves (and very nice it was too:yum)!

Methinks that Winglad's menu is a bad joke:mad:. I guess that it was from a Cornish hostelry, which could explain the vastly inflated prices.

    Just saying!
