I found a factory connector wired wrong today. I put a Yoshimura tail tidy on a few days ago that comes with an LED license plate light. I noticed today while leaving for work in the dark that the plate light wasn’t working. This in on the same fuse as the rear light, which was fine. While troubleshooting I found that the 2 connectors with the black and yellow wires were reversed from each other. This isn’t a problem for an incandescent bulb, but LED’s are polarity sensitive being diodes. The connectors are keyed so I rolled the wires on one and problem sorted. Seems like someone was sleeping in quality control.

Nope. The Yoshi has you cut the wires near the light. The 2 sides of the factory connectors were opposite - yellow to black and black to yellow.

My 2016 R was like this - I thought it wasn't working until I swapped black to yellow...and yellow to black.
