Hi all, after stepping off my 950 smr with acrapovics the tiger 800xc feels a bit lacking in terms of power and engine note- i do a lot of town riding and filtering through traffic so would like to be a bit more noticeable when i am carving through the traffic. i know that the arrow can that the majority of triumph dealerships need mapping but i am getting mixed information on other setups- i am looking at getting the leovince carbon can as it is a lot cheaper but i am getting mixed answers on whether it needs a remap or not- any one have any information on this or any luck with non standard cans??
    thanks

I've just gone with the Arrow can on my XC, being fitted this weekend. It is a definite re-map with this exhaust, in fact Triumph do the re map for free if you buy it direct from them. Although they do charge £500.00 for the system!

£500 is what put me off the arrow i went with the leovince in the end and i am pretty happy with it- slight popping on deceleration but i am much happier with the engine note- i havent fitted a map to it yet- possibly will if i swap the air filter over to the K&N substitute.

I think there's just two maps available for the Tiger800, standard and Arrows. A lot of riders find fuel consumption suffers with the Arrows map, though presumably there's a slight power gain and smoother running.

I watched a video of Tiger800 + LeoVince on standard map. It was running really well, but with a lot of popping. There are other makes which claim to be tuned specifically for the standard map (eg. Scorpion & MIVV). I think you get riders running with standard map and an Arrows can, just so they don't get the fuel hit. I've also heard of Arrows map riders who claim there is no fuel hit. Down to personal choice in the end.

I have the standard can and standard map, so no personal experience to add.

After deciding which pipes,go to rollin' road specialist as I've said in other posts. For £25 test you will get a graph of power, torque etc right through range, which will tell you exactly where you are now. Then you can decide to let them re-map for 13.6:1 air fuel ratio (max mpg!), sort popping etc etc. My Total cost was £145, 15mpg more and increased power and torque.(I have power commander, hyde peashooter style pipes and air induction kit). The bird flies, weekend trip to Belgium was super smooth (09 Bonnie SE). Choice of pipes is personal, listen to others first. Good luck, hard decision :upyeah:
