That'll be this guy I think. I watched it a while ago. It's a good example of someone setting out on a journey. The doubts, the fear, going to unknown places, spending days on end not talking to anyone and everything else that goes with it. At the end of the day he did what he set out to do so thumbs up to him.
Yeah Boorman is an arse, but they are good entertainment. Given a choice between bake off - x factor - jungle celeb wankers, give me Charlie & Ewan any day.
Its all rubbish. Give me the time of work a pit crew all the cushy bits to go and I'll ride my bonnie. There is a couple of peeps that were in the MCN not so long ago they are the true riders doing it all on their own. Not some setup farce for ratings. Ride Safe Joe.
Bar the famous doohickey they are very tough the us army got a diesel version I believe, had one years ago took it off-road by feck heavy to move when up to back axle in mud.
A chap I know who worked as a Game Warden in Zimbabwe reckoned he met them there to be their guide down to South Africa (where he had a farm). Said he was surprised at the number of back-up vehicles and crew. As for the wild camping, he reckons it was mainly hotels all the way down.
Strong rumours that the pair of them are doing this on Harley-Davidsons - wait, there's more! They're electric ones! https://www.advpulse.com/adv-news/e...2B5iYsuHNmXSloVLJCOak2kVlGSwg8OSr-YFBY8o8waBY
Call me an old skeptic but i cant help but wonder just how many actual miles they ride between nice hotel breaks and luxury spars.....
By comparison, I just watched The Ride, London to Beijing on Amazon Prime and it looked more hardcore than Ewan and Charlie's escapades although their programs were brilliant and thoroughly enjoyed
Yeah, I watched that. A proper adventure but looking at some of the places they visited you have to wonder why they bothered!
Yamaha Super Tenere .Read an article in a mag where they stripped one down after I think it might have been Nick Sanders had done a lot of miles very quickly and there was no wear at all in the motor, but that would probably go for most modern machinery but no one has suggested Yamaha.
