    Right that’s it
Feck it I’ve had enough
I’m gonna move to Spain :sun::eek::cool:
Seriously  I have set myself a target of twelve months started 18th February :)
By this time next year I will know whether or not it’s something that’s doable?
If I can do it before then? then I’ll be off :grinning:
Obviously theirs a lot to consider and work to be done :( but I’ll be getting my house valued and taking advice from wherever necessary :)
Already been advised not to buy a property until 12months after mine is sold otherwise the Spanish government tax you 20%:mad:
On holiday in two weeks time :sun::cool: and when I get back I’ll be pulling out all the stops to achieve a better life style for myself and my wife :) my son is more than welcome to join us but if he doesn’t want to come with us then he’ll have to strike out and stand on his own two feet
Hope I can pull this off as it’s something that’s been on my mind for far too long and it’s about time I did something about it instead of dreaming :p

But seriously, you should have done it a few years back, pre-brexit. Your £-euro rate is feckin shite now. My missus wants us to retire to Portugal, but looking at propery prices now, compared to what we could afford 4 years ago is shocking. I've got at least 12 years to go, but current plan is to sell up, and fuck off down there to.

Uk is fecked unless they don't leave EU. I remember the good old days when people went to Germany to buy RH cars at -20% of UK list price. Going to be happening soon.

Get out now, leave all this shitty weather and xenophobes and get yourself somewhere nice. If I could I would go to Portugal this year.

If anyone wants/needs any advice on moving abroad, pm me. We moved to France after buying our first place in 2001 - would never think of moving back to UK.

Nearly moved to France when my son was about 3yrs old
But the wife pulled the plug on that one at the eleventh hour :(
I’d even sold my motorbike and said my goodbyes
This time I’ve put my foot down and if it’s doable I’ve told her WE’RE GOING

Good on you, Dilligaf. If that's you dream, GO FOR IT!!
Do plenty of research, I suggest joining a few expat forums and get info straight from the guys who have already done what you're waning to do.

I'll be doing the same..... Once my elderly parents are no longer here, I'm giving my notice in at work and moving to the Philippines with my wife..

    Cheers mate :)
The stumbling block for my wife last time was her lovely mother
Sadly she succumbed to cancer 3yrs ago and although I tend to my elderly mother my brother lives just round the corner from her and I will pass the baton over to him
I don’t want to put it off any longer :(
