Been out a few times in the dark with no street lights, and even though there are twin headlights the luminosity is poor. Descided to upgrade so went fore these. Wow what a difference 6000LM blasting out HAPPY DAYS
Let us know how they work out as a direct comparison to the std H4 filaments that may be an option for my single headlamp Trophy
Fantastic condition your bikes in, worth putting the time and effort in. My understanding is a stock H4 halogen bulb puts out about 1000LM. Mine were definitely stock, very feeble. These deliver 2000LM at low beam and 3000LM with high beam. So you should double the amount of light your currently getting. On paper they have a long life span and for £14 worth a go. Must say these type of lights have dropped in price. I purchased mine from Amazon Cheers Chris
Thanks for the compliments theres a bit to do but once I have a workshop again I can get stuck in, the Lumen comparison is interesting especially at such low power consumption as higher wattage bulbs are known to risk cracking the front lens which gets a bit expensive !! I'll give Amazon a look see what I can find Thanks Chris
I went for 35w hid × 3, I put dual headlights from T300 speed triple . separated them and put them on an 8 mm thick aluminum base rail/plate. Its amazing what approximately 10,000 lumens is like in comparison to 1,000 odd !!!! It's not strictly legal, as HID lights fitted to a vehicle should have washer's to clean lenses , the washers must be linked to the CARS windscreen wipers/washer's, something to do with glàre off dirty lens's. Since I couldn't get the Bike's windscreen washer's to work any how, I didn't put any on the headlamps .... LOL. Never been pulled over by the police for Overly bright lights ! Cheers capt
The light blasting out is very impressive, I had a couple of drivers that flashed me more because I looked more like “Close Encounters Of The Third Kind” then a high beam
Yes, sorry the joys of being a dad and a taxi driver to my 14 year old. One minute i’m hugging trees, then burning down the planet, helps having multiple personalities!!!
Decided to upgrade all the lights to LED’s as brighter and less load on the alternator. Purchased these from China to upgrade the clock display I was pleased with the result, just remember the LED’s have a positive and negative so it matters which way they are inserted into the bulb holder
Probably got a bit toooo much time on my hands, but do like to see the time when riding about. This time piece went well with the design of the clocks, but not tooooo blingy!!
Hi Chris I'd be interested in where you got the rear disc, as I'll be looking for one shortly to fit the spare wheels that should be arriving this week.
Hi Good old eBay, the cheapest i’ve seen, the inner spokes painted black goes well. You can also purchase from Triumph Sprint but are more expensive. My purchase fitted perfectly and breaking is great. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Round-Rear-Brake-Disc-Triumph-Daytona-900-3-cyl-1993-96-RDR204/291979665010?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
This has been a great story, well told and fascinating to read - despite being 'hidden away' for a couple of years! Your work is excellent, the bike is beautiful and it must be a real source of pride and joy ... in every sense!! Love it. Nice one.
