Hey folks, it's been a while,

My Daytona has been stood almost a year, I've put fresh fuel in and now it splutters and misfires and sometimes dies.

Would I be right in thinking it's just because it's been stood and dragging the crap from the bottom of the tank through the system?

It’s unlikely to be that if you’ve put fresh fuel in. More likely to be gummed up injectors or tank filter from the old fuel.
I’d suggest putting some fuel system cleaner through it and it should hopefully get better as the cleaner works, otherwise you may have to work through the system cleaning all the components if it’s really bad.
Have you checked it’s not a blocked airbox or something, maybe a mouse nest or the like in there? It has been known before ;)

    Definitely not a mouse

It did have maybe a litre of old fuel left in the tank when I out the fresh stuff in, a fuel cleaner was going to be my next step I just wanted a second opinion.

Any particular cleaner recommended or just trust old redex?

I bet dd would say Lucas fuel treatment, another good call.

Have you tried spraying the ht leads, could be damp too.

If I haven't said it welcome to the family. Do drop us all a picture of the steed. I wouldn't worry if its got a splutter probably just a bad chest with this weather we are having. But like the peeps said get a fuel cleaner and take a good long ride to blow her through.
    Ride Safe & Enjoy
    Joe.

So thanks for the help everyone, a generous dose of redex and a few enthusiastic miles appear to have sorted it
